Airman Identified After Fatal Pregame Fall At College Football Stadium The Air Force has identified the airman whose fatal fall turned a college football pregame tribute into tragedy. Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson, a Fort Stewart, Georgia, native who served for 15 years, died after falling during a demonstration at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, Oct. 17. Nellis Air Force Base announced his identity, according to ABC affiliate KSAT. Patterson was a Tactical Air Control Party instructor assigned to the 6th Combat Training Squadron’s Detachment 2 at Joint Base San Antonio.
