The orange cat, since named Garfield for his appearance, was first spotted by an LIRR engineer near Lindenhurst station on the Babylon Branch on Saturday, April 11, but the engineer assumed the furball was dead, WABC reported. At 1 a.m. , a train on the Gladstone Branch of the Morris & Essex Lane, struck and killed the woman at Highland Avenue station, NJ Transit said. The train had departed at Gladstone at 11:53 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Hoboken Terminal at 1:22 a.m., NJ Transit said.
