A Long Island man at a disability center who turned blue after choking on his food was saved when a faculty member sprang into action. It happened on Monday, Nov. 27 in Levittown. At approximately 12:15 p.m., a 58-year-old man started to choke while he was eating food at the Adults and Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities Center (ACLD), located at 2940-42 Hempstead Turnpike. Death At Route 17 Holiday Inn: Cause Not Official Yet
All signs point to the death of a 56-year-old guest at a Holiday Inn off Route 17 as the result of a medical emergency, possibly a heart attack. But it’s not official yet. Hasbrouck Heights police were still awaiting the results of an autopsy by the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office. Off-Duty Firefighter Saves Woman's Life After She Stopped Breathing in Western Mass
A firefighter is never off-duty. A Hampshire County firefighter proved that last week when he happened upon an unresponsive woman and was able to get her breathing again before paramedics could arrive, authorities said. A 78-year-old man who was found unresponsive in the water at a Connecticut state park later died. The incident took place in New London County around 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6 at Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme.
