A Westchester County boutique is preparing to close its brick-and-mortar storefront after five years, the shop announced in a message to customers on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The Lounge House, a women’s clothing and gift shop located at 922 Main St. in Peekskill, said it will shut down its physical location on Sunday, Dec. 14, after being given the opportunity to exit its lease earlier than expected.

Nelly Ruiz moved to the United States in 1991 with big dreams — dreams she would eventually accomplish, but it was the family she built that brought her the greatest pride.
Ruiz, 54, was killed on Nov. 9 as she crossed High Ridge Road in Stamford. The driver, a 30-year-old man, remained at the scene, according to police.
Ruiz, a native of Ecuador who lived in Stamford, was the mother of four adult children. She was the “pillar of her family,” they wrote in her obituary.

A beloved Maryland son, brother, and friend is being remembered after passing unexpectedly this week.
Andrik Cortes Morfin, 23, of Essex, died on Monday, according to his obituary from Connelly Funeral Home of Essex.
“Andrik passed tragically on Oct. 20. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend,” friend Sara Cosby wrote.

Beloved Seaside Heights Bartender Dies: Remembering Jimmy Hughes
James "Jimmy" Hughes, a bartender at Klee's Bar and Grill in Seaside Heights died on Thursday, Oct. 2, the restaurant announced.
Hughes died surrounded by his family, the restaurant said.
"Jimmy was a valued server and bartender at both Klee’s and Henry’s over the past few years, and he brought warmth, kindness, and laughter to so many," the restaurant said. "This sudden loss has deeply affected our entire Klee’s and Henry’s family. We will miss him dearly."
Henry's at Klee's was closed Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3 to give staff time to grieve, though Klee's remains open.
