A Pennsylvania family has filed a federal lawsuit claiming their son endured months of unchecked bullying before taking his own life at his East Berlin home on Monday, Dec. 4, according to court documents filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Jonathan “Jonny” M. Tomasello, a 15-year-old student at Bermudian Springs High School in Adams County, died by suicide after what his parents describe as “relentless, extreme, and intolerable” bullying, they say the district failed to stop, as stated in the lawsuit.

Juvenile, Adult Victims Dragged, Beaten After Leaving PA High School: Police
Two Glenolden women are accused of following and assaulting a juvenile and an adult female after school dismissal in Sharon Hill, police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The incident began on Wednesday, Nov. 5, when the victims were followed from Academy Park High School by 34-year-old Lashay Simpson-Sheppard, 18-year-old Dashay Sheppard, and their juvenile daughter, according to the Sharon Hill Borough Police Department.
The trio exited their vehicle in the 1100 block of Chester Pike, dragged the victims out of their car, and assaulted them before fleeing the area, police said.

A student was cited for retail theft after walking out of the school cafeteria without paying, Millersville police announced on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The 16-year-old girl was accused of taking food and drink items from the lunch line at Penn Manor High School between Monday, Oct. 6, and Wednesday, Oct. 8, according to police.
A cafeteria worker saw the student get items and bypass the registers without paying, officers said. Video surveillance later confirmed that she failed to stop at the register line, investigators detailed in the release.

A man is accused of pulling a gun on a teenager outside the football stadium at Chichester High School, leading officers to uncover an AK-47-style pistol and drugs, police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Quadir Blackwell, 21, was arrested after the confrontation on the 3300 block of Chichester Avenue in Upper Chichester around 12:54 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, according to a release.
