2 Men Identified After Horrific Boating Deaths On Lake In New York: State Police
The two men killed in a terrifying boating accident on a New York lake were identified Monday, Aug. 10, by New York State Police.
Larry Barton, 78, of Dolgeville, and Lynn Richards, 65, of Little Falls, were killed in the incident on Kyser Lake in the town of Manheim, Herkimer County, around 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, according to State Police.
Two pontoon boats were loosely tied together when Barton entered the water and began experiencing a medical emergency, the preliminary investigation found.

A restaurant manager at a Westchester golf club stole thousands of dollars from the business before returning days later and breaking into the clubhouse, New York State Police said.
David Chung, 37, of Somers, was arrested Friday, Aug. 7, following a string of incidents at Somers National Golf Club at 1000 West Hill Drive, according to State Police. The investigation began after police learned Chung obtained a combined $4,800 from two people on Saturday, July 25, authorities said.

Woman, Baby Killed In Boat Crash Off Liberty Island
A 46-year-old Manhattan man has been charged after a boat overturned near Liberty Island, killing a 27-year-old woman and a 5-month-old baby, authorities said.
Manuel Hernandez was arrested at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, within the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, and charged with 13 counts of reckless endangerment, an NYPD spokesperson said.
The incident began around 10:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, when police received a 911 call reporting an overturned vessel near Liberty Island within the 1st Precinct, authorities said.
