A child is fighting for their life after a shooting inside a Maryland home. Prince George's County Police were called to the 300 block of Tayside Way in the Landover area at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, where officers found a child suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence. A 39-year-old former "American Idol" contestant is facing charges out of a Jersey Shore town for allegedly stealing from a Target store. Antonella M. Barba was charged on Monday, Aug. 10, and charged with shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $200 in Ocean Township (Monmouth County). Barba pleaded not guilty, and the case remains active. The man killed in a three-vehicle Maryland crash has been identified. Blake Greenwell, 24, of Waldorf, died in the collision at Indian Head Highway and Palmer Road in Fort Washington shortly before 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Prince George’s County Police said in an update Thursday. Greenwell was driving one of two sedans that were heading north on Indian Head Highway as an SUV traveled south toward the intersection, according to the preliminary investigation.
