A young Long Island man left a starving dog locked in a basement with little to eat, authorities said Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Isaiah Thomas, 20, of Wheatley Heights, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 15 on two animal cruelty charges, the Suffolk County SPCA said.
Thomas owned a 4-year-old Cane Corso named Apollo, then confined the dog to a basement secured by a metal door that was held closed by three vehicle tires, investigators said.

A Connecticut content creator who made more than $3 million on OnlyFans admitted she evaded federal taxes while spending large sums on luxury vehicles and jewelry, federal authorities said.
Seathra Zmeena Orr, 39, pleaded guilty to tax evasion in federal court in Hartford on Tuesday, Sept. 15, after she waived her right to an indictment and entered the plea, the US Attorney for the District of Connecticut said.
